Today is World Book Day in United Kingdom and Ireland, it´s not in Spain, in Spain is known as International Day of the Book, a yearly event on 23 April, organized by UNESCO.

The connection between 23 April and books was first made in 1923 by booksellers in Catalonia, Spain, as a way to honour the author Miguel de Cervantes who died on that day. In 1995, UNESCO decided that the World Book and Copyright Day would be celebrated on this date because of the Catalonian festival and because the date is also the anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare.

But now I am in Ireland so in honour to UK and Ireland I am talking about books, especially, about some books Catalina loves.

You know Catalina loves Romilda the Frog, writted and illustrated by Bruno Munari, Alice in Wonderland, by Suzy Lee, Loveykins by Quentin Blake, The Lonesome Puppy by Yoshitomo Nara , The holes in your nose by Genichiro Yagyu, but you didn´t know Catalina loves The Big Book of Fears by Emily Gravet, The Pigeon by Mo Williems, Charlie and Lola by Lauren Child, The Little Prince by Saint-Exupéry and much more... Catalina has got a stunning collection, books are bought around all Europe. I envy her.

Hoy es el Día de Mundial del Libro en Reino Unido y en Irlanda, no lo es en España, en España este día se celebra anualmente el día 23 de abril y es conocido como Día Internacional del Libro.

La conexión entre el 23 de abril y los libros tuvo lugar por primera vez en 1923, en Cataluña, España, en honor a Miguel de Cervantes que murió un 23 de abril. En 1995, la UNESCO decidió que fuese ese día cuando se celebrase el día del libro coincidiendo con el Festival del Libro en Cataluña y coincidiendo también con el nacimiento y la muerte de Shakespeare.

Pero ahora estoy en Irlanda y no en España, por lo tanto, voy a hablar de libros, y en especial, de los libros que Catalina adora.

Ya sabeis que a Catalina le encanta Romilda la Rana, ilustrado y escrito por Bruno Munari, Alicia en el Pais de las Maravillas por Suzy Lee, Loveykins por Quentin Blake, The Lonesome puppy por Nara, Los agujeros en tu nariz por Yagyu, pero no sabiais que Catalina adora El gran libro de los miedos de Emily Gravet, El pichón por Mo Williems, Juan y Tolola por Lauren Child, El Principito por Saint-Exupery y muchos más... Catalina tiene una colección increible de libros comprados por toda Europa. I envy her.
