Moomah

I´ve never been to New York, so I don´t know anything about that city, well i know a little bit thanks to A Walk in New York, a must have children book written by Salvatore Rubbino, and I´ve got some postcards that my sister sent me when she was there. That´s all. But today browsing some blogs I found this little treasure (i am not sure if it´s a treasure, it could be there are amazing cafes for children at every corner in Manhattan) thanks to Design Shimmer.
The cafe looks fantastic, a fairly tale for kids: deers, little lambs, cows, red mushrooms, maybe it´s time for a trip to NY.

Funky Forest created by Theodore Watson and Emily Gobeille

The cafe has also got art proyects and exhibitions. More: here

Hans Christian and Grimm by Gruppe 38... So cute!!!

Hans Christian, you must be an angel

Two weeks ago I had the chance to discover Gruppe 38, a wonderful Danish professional theater with a history going back to 1972.

I saw them at Ark, a Central Cultural for Children in the center of Dublin, and they were absolutely fantastic. I could see two of their performance "Hans Christian, You must be an angel" and "Hansel and Gretel". And I felt in love with them.

Hansel and Gretel was nominated for the theatre award -Reumert of the year- in the category Best Performance for Children. I couln´t find Hansel and Gretel in youtube but if you go to here, you can enjoy this beaufiful performance, a magical, intimate piece of theatre for children.

Above you can browse a bit of "Hans Christian, You must be an angel", I prefer "Hansel and Gretel" to "You must be an Angel" but it is superb as well. Enjoy the video

Pude ver dos de sus obras "Hans Christian, you must be an angel" y "Hansel y Gretel". Me enamoraron. Hansel y Gretel fue nominado por unos premios de teatros en la categoría de Mejor obra para niños. No pude encontrar in youtube ningún fragmento de la obra, pero si vas a su página, puedes ver lo bonita que es la historia que nos cuentan.

Arriba he puesto un video de "You must be an angel", a mi me gustó más Hansel and Gretel que You must be an angel, pero también me encantó. Disfrutad del video.

Rabbits, turtles, cocodriles and much more

These giant rabbits, turtles and more are the creation of the Cracking Art Group. The installation is made by recycling old plastic water bottles.
They are Renzo, Marco, Alex, Carlo, Kicco and William, and I love their job.
I want to go to Italy, right now!!!

Crazy Days by Taro Miura

Last Wednesday Catalina and I went to The National Gallery of Ireland and we found the newest Taro Miura´s work, the Japanese illustrator. Of course, we bought the book and it is wonderful!!!
With bright colours and clear design, accompanied by a simple text, each picture tells the story of a day when very strange things happen...
Crazy Days is published by Tate.
Catalina loves Crazy Days!!!

Sunday Morning at The Hugh Lane Gallery

Yesterday Morning, Catalina went to visit The Hugh Lane Gallery and she enjoyed it a lot. The Hugh Lane is a interesting museum in Dublin and it´s not too much large for her, so she could visit all the gallery. Her favourites "Egg Fight' (below), a sculptural installation created by Yinka Shonibare, based on themes developed in Jonathan Swift´s Gulliver´s Travels. The installation has two mannequins, Dutch wax printed cotton fabric, leather boots, replica guns, rope, polystyrene eggs and silicon; and her another fav, "Francis Bacon´s Studio", although acording to Catalina, a little messy. (below).

Lovely Betsy

"I am native Kansan who now calls Portland, Oregon home. I left a full time job in October, 2006 to become a painter and illustrator. Since then, I have been painting day and night, answering emails, shipping packages, and meeting fascinating new people at every turn. I am truly grateful for the support and encouragement I have received along the way" Betsy Walton says about herself in her Website http://www.morningcraft.com/profile.php

We do love her!!!
