Catalina goes shopping

Catalina is playing in Milk + Cookies, the cutest children store in Dublin. While you try mini-dreses from brands like Maan or Quincy, you can play in its play area, ‘Aiko’s Kitchen’, that is scrawled in crayon on a cardboard Wendy house.

Catalina hasn´t any chance to wear her new dresses in Ireland. But last Saturday we went to have dinner to The Tea Room, a fantastic restaurant in Dublin. So she could wear one of her new dress, her fabbest and newest I Pinco Pallino dress.

The dinner was so yummy, yummy. As aperitif she asked for a Daiquiri Junior, and then more yummy food, and as dessert... she ate Manuel´s dessert.

Catalina and her pizza

Last Saturday Catalina and I went to see "The Ugly Ducklings´Dancing Cabaret" at Ark . First of all, we had lunch in the Temple Bar Food Market in Meeting House Square. This Market takes place every Saturday from 9 am until 5 pm, and there are a lot of stalls, there's sushi, there's jam, there's waffles, there's freshly baked bread and tapas both Spanish and Mexican-style. So, you can choose on a lazy Saturday. So Catalina had a little bit of pizza and a huge ice-cream-shaped chocolate lollipop.
And then, we went to The Ark to see " The Ugly Ducklings´ Dancing Cabaret". It was very funny. First, Catalina was a little scared and a little disappointed because she didn´t see any duckling, but finally she had fun.

Merienda at Chester Beatty Library

Catalina went to Chester Beatty last week. Chester Beatty Library was European Museum of the Year 2002 and it is a window on the artist treasures of the great cultures and religions of the world. Catalina enjoyed a lot the Museum but she prefered the Café in Chester. It was merienda-time and Catalina was really starving. Merienda is a snack at 5 p.m in Spain. Catalina usually has Nutella with bread or chorizo or ham with bread. In France Merienda is called goûter.

So Catalina had merienda (or goûter) there, and later she played a lot in a pond, she ran barefoot, she read her new book, The Three Robbers by Tomi Ungerer and she was talking with the staff of the museum.

Now she wants to come back again.

Ahora ella quiere volver otra vez

Shopping Sunday Evening

The Hermes´ Rocking Horses are superb, aren´t they?

After having lunch we went shopping. We bought English books and tasty food and when Catalina was tired we decided to go to Café Leon as a treat, and Catalina asked for a... STRAWBERRY FRAISER!!!

Sunday Morning at The Hugh Lane Gallery

Yesterday Morning, Catalina went to visit The Hugh Lane Gallery and she enjoyed it a lot. The Hugh Lane is a interesting museum in Dublin and it´s not too much large for her, so she could visit all the gallery. Her favourites "Egg Fight' (below), a sculptural installation created by Yinka Shonibare, based on themes developed in Jonathan Swift´s Gulliver´s Travels. The installation has two mannequins, Dutch wax printed cotton fabric, leather boots, replica guns, rope, polystyrene eggs and silicon; and her another fav, "Francis Bacon´s Studio", although acording to Catalina, a little messy. (below).

After a long visit to the gallery, we had lunch, a big and delicious lunch at Hugh´ Café.
